It’s been quite a year for Diora and I! In January we did a shoot for Treats magazine, I based it on the key party scene in the film The Ice Storm, and now it’s December and she is ready to have her baby boy. Quite the opposite kind of story. I was afraid she would have him before we did the shoot but the little guy is taking his time. As I am making a book of her I didn’t expect this to be one of the types of photos we would end up doing. It is a beautiful surprise to see her about to become a mama with her man Jon. Thank you all so much for a beautiful shoot! More pix on my website soon!

Here is a preview of my layout in Treats! Issue #3. My concept was based on a scene from the movie The Ice Storm. It is an incredible movie about suburban adults in Connecticut in the 1970’s. I did my own version of the key-party scene, where the married couples switch partners according to whose keys they pull out of a bowl. A totally disturbing and fascinating social situation that I wanted to explore visually. And Treats! magazine gave me the go-ahead to do it! I wanted it to be a west coast version, and more lighthearted and sexy than the movie but still show the range of emotions that occur, as well as take it much farther along into the scenario. The issue is out today at Book Soup!
Hi all! British art magazine Rooms did a feature on my photography, and it includes my first interview ever. Rooms is super smart and cool, and I am so honored to be in it! It is in both print and digital. You can download the issue from their site: http://www.roomsmagazine.com/ or find it on newsstands in London, New York, and LA coming soon. My favorite girl Diora is on the cover, yes we made the cover! It was a great pleasure working with the inspiring Eva Pelaez, the editorial director, and Ana Afonso, the talented creative director. And a big thanks also to Nathan Kelly, the writer of my piece who was very patient and funny while I tried to answer his questions. I hope I can go meet these great people in London some day soon! Thank you Rooms!
I also want to thank my team: Courtenay Brandt http://www.courtenaybrandt.com/ for styling the cover, Stephen Bowman for doing the makeup, and Sean Mikel for doing hair. XO!
